Another Great Reggae Film To Check Out by Mitch Santell It was really fun to go online early this morning to find a very unique documentary that just opened in theaters in the United Kingdom. First, check out the trailer above. Second, a little bit about the film and the director: Peter Webber is a British director and producer known for his debut film, Girl with a Pearl Earring and Hannibal Rising. Inna De Yard: The Soul of Jamaica is his third feature documentary after Ten Billion and Earth: One Amazing Day. No matter what is written or said, it always comes down to a comment about Bob Marley. While Bob Marley may be most closely associated with the heyday of reggae music, there are others who did not achieve international stardom, ones who remain popular in Jamaica and among reggae fans, singers and songwriters who maintain the spiritual and social values reflected in their music from the 70s and 80s. Now they will once again sing about those values, as relevant as ever, on an international tour. Inna de Yard captures the musicians—among them Ken Boothe, Winston McAnuff, Kiddus I, and Cedric Myton—as they reacquaint, swap stories, and talk of their lives as they rehearse in a studio in the hills above Kingston in a house adorned with hundreds of old LPs and 45s from back in the day. Third, here is a link to buy tickets. The film is being shown in the United Kingdom. https://www.innadeyard.film #reggae #dancehall #music #hiphop #jamaica #reggaemusic #soca #afrobeats #dj #rap #rnb #dub #party #roots #caribbean #bobmarley #ska #love #rasta #reggaeton #rock #onelove #livemusic #rastafari #dance #soundsystem #repost #k #musica #bhfyp #dancehallmusic #soul #africa #afrobeat #rootsreggae #vybzkartel #jamaican #summer #vibes #artist #nyc #trap #nightlife #goodvibes #culture #top #funk #rocksteady #pop #trinidad #afrocaribbean #brooklyn #bujubanton #kingston #jazz #producer #concert #vinyl #newmusic #radio #errolbrown
