A Commentary On Streaming Frustrations by Mitch Santell
Big Reggae Mix is committed to you our listeners. First, we want to thank all of you who send us such kind comments regarding our station. Second, a special thank you to the dozens and dozens of Reggae Bands who have provided us with eloquent beautiful drops to play at the station. (An extraordinary hat tip to those bands who recorded their drop as a song).
One of the biggest challenges that our station has faced merely is staying on the air. It is not that we don't want to be the best Reggae Station you have ever heard online; it is that the rules keep changing, the companies keep changing. The players keep changing.
May I give you an example?
For over three years Big Reggae Mix Streamed Loud and Proud at TuneIn both on their website and through the TuneIn Radio App.
We have contacted TuneIn at least 12 times, and now I am writing to their support team every other week.
Why am I so upset that we are off of TuneIn?
Answer: We lost our license to stream and legally relaunched our station on July 12, 2019, after being on the air continuously for 24/7 since November 5, 2014.
How many listeners were following and registered at TuneIn?
So here is TuneIn, streaming thousands of stations through their platform and this I can tell you from experience:
Don't ever go off the air because you will never again be on Tunein. The company will tell you that they are not accepting any new station.
If this little rant has inspired you, please be so kind as to visit their support page at https://help.tunein.com/contact ( Click and it will take you to the page now).
When you land on the page, the contact screen will look like this:
Simply fill out the form as best you can and share with TuneIn your sincere passion for Big Reggae Mix.
We will have an update regarding TuneIn soon. In the meantime, check out our home page where you can stream directly and/or through Radio.net (one of our favorite streaming platforms).
